What would you do?

Playground and classroom situations and, from Year 6, group chats and group work, with three responses: one that helps and two that hurt or ignore. The options change order every time and the answer key circles the right one.

What are they thinking?

Two children in a scene, with faces showing how they feel and a thought bubble to write what each one thinks and feels. Practises empathy and perspective taking.

Conversations and conflicts

The steps of saying hello, joining a game, asking for help or saying sorry to put in order, and a conflict between two children to solve step by step: stop, explain, say how we feel, think of solutions and choose one.

Personalised social narratives

Write a first-person story, one sentence per line, to prepare for a particular situation: a visit to the doctor, moving class, the end of break. Each sentence is a page of the booklet; if it names something we have a drawing of, the page shows it.

Frequently asked questions about social skills worksheets

Which ages are they for?
Ages 5 to 14, in three stages: Reception to Year 2 to read with an adult, Years 3 to 5 with short sentences and Years 6 to 9 with group and online situations.
Is there an answer key?
Yes, for “What would you do?” and the conversation steps. Scenes, conflicts and narratives are open: each child uses their own words.
Are they suitable for autistic children?
They are practice material like the worksheets used in support sessions, and the social narratives can be written for each child. They do not replace professional support. There is more in the learning support worksheets.
How do I make a social narrative?
Choose “Social narrative”, write one sentence per line in the first person and in a positive tone, and print the booklet: two pages per sheet, to cut out and staple. Read it together for a few days before the situation.
