Each sentence says which word class to look for (circle the adverbs): pupils have to find every word of that class, not just the first one.
A table with a box for each word class under every sentence, ready for pupils to copy the words into, with no table to draw.
Short sentences for Grade 4, longer ones with verb phrases and object pronouns for Grades 5 and 6, and words that change class for Grades 7 to 10: her bag / I saw her, a fast car / runs fast.
Every word has a clear class in its sentence. An automatic check makes sure determiners, pronouns, prepositions and conjunctions come from the word lists and that no word changes class at levels 1 and 2.
Not a translation: English, Spanish and Catalan each have sentences written for that language, in British spelling for English and without infinitive to or phrasal verbs, whose class is disputed.
