The start of the school year means a new class list, an attendance register and a gradebook for marks and observations. This free class list and grade sheet maker builds A4 sheets ready to print with your students' names (or blank rows) and the columns you need, spread over as many sheets as it takes with the heading row repeated.

Five templates

Class list with free columns, monthly attendance register, gradebook with an average column, observation checklist by criteria, and a reading and homework tracker.

Attendance on the real calendar

Choose the month and the sheet has its real days, the initial of each weekday and Saturdays and Sundays shaded. Print up to twelve months in a row.

Your own columns

Type the headings (tests, criteria, books, dates) or leave them blank. Narrow columns print their headings upwards, as in a teacher's planner.

Your students' names

Paste the class list, one name per line, or choose how many blank rows you want. Saved templates keep the names in your browser.

Portrait or landscape

When the columns do not fit a portrait sheet, the table prints in landscape. Long lists continue on the next sheet with the heading row repeated.

For every stage

From early years to Grade 12: the stage suggests the number of rows and starting headings (terms, tests, observation criteria) you can change.

Class list FAQ

How do I make a class list with my students' names?
Choose the template and the stage, then paste the list in the Students step: one name per line, in any order. For more rows than names, raise the number of rows and the extra ones print blank.
Does the attendance register have the real days of the month?
Yes. Choose the month and the sheet is worked out from its number of days and the weekday of each one; weekends are shaded and the last columns total absences and lates. A key explains the marks A, L and E.
Can I add my own assessment criteria?
Yes. In the observation checklist, write one criterion per line and choose the key (✓ ~ ✗ or a scale of 1 to 4). For descriptors at each level, use the assessment rubric maker.
Does the table print in portrait or landscape?
Automatically: in portrait while the columns are wide enough to write in, in landscape when they are not (a month's attendance register, for example). You can also force either one in More options.
Does it work out the average?
No: the sheets are filled in by hand. The average or final grade column is there to write it once you have worked it out. You can turn it off in More options.
Is there an answer key?
No, because these are teacher records: there are no answers, only boxes to note each student's attendance, grades or observations.
Are my students' names sent anywhere?
No. The sheets are made in your browser and templates are saved in your browser's storage. For other classroom sheets there is also printable lined and graph paper and the visual schedules and calendars.
