Visual schedules

Five routines (morning, school, afternoon, bedtime and the whole day) with 4, 6 or every step by age. Each step has its picture, its number and a box to tick when it is done. They help children who need to know what is going to happen next.

Today is" board for circle time

The day of the week and the weather at age 3; the date and the month at age 4; the year and the season at age 5. Print one a day for the class helper to fill in at circle time.

Monthly calendar

The real calendar of the month you choose, starting on Monday with the weekend shaded: complete to cross off the days, with some numbers to write in, or with only the 1st so children write them all.

Order the day

Times of the day in a muddle (waking up, going to school, lunch, bath, sleep…) to number. Only times with a clear order are mixed: getting dressed and breakfast never come up together.

Days of the week

At age 4, the seven days in order with two to fill in from a word box; at age 5, yesterday, today and tomorrow: read what day it is today and circle the day before and the day after.

Answer key

Ordering the day, the days of the week and the calendars to fill in come with an answer key in blue. Visual schedules, the "Today is" board and the complete calendar need none.

Frequently Asked Questions about the Routine Charts and Calendars

Which ages are these sheets for?
Ages 3 to 5 (preschool, Pre-K and Reception). Every template has three levels: few steps and large pictures at age 3, more steps and numbers to write at age 4, and the whole routine, the year, the season and the days of the week at age 5.
Is the calendar the real one for that month?
Yes. Choose the month and the year, and the calendar is worked out from the number of days in the month and the day it starts on, Monday to Sunday. You can print up to twelve months in a row, one per sheet.
Can I use the visual schedules with autistic children?
Yes. They are step-by-step schedules with a simple picture, the name and a box to tick, on an A4 sheet to put up or laminate. The pictures are our own line drawings, to colour in.
Can I print capital letters?
Yes. Open More options when you add the sheet and choose capitals or lower case. Names of days and months keep their capital letter in lower case, as in English spelling.
Are there worksheets to learn to tell the time?
Yes, in the telling the time worksheet generator, and for units of time (minutes, hours, days, weeks, months) there is the units of time generator.
Can I mix them with other early years sheets?
Yes. Add exercises from other generators to the same sheet, such as basic concepts or word and picture matching, and print them together.
