Frequently asked questions about mental maths worksheets

Which grades are these worksheets for?
The whole of primary school: addition and subtraction to 20 and bonds to 10 for Grades 1 and 2, times tables and calculation to 100 for Grades 2 to 4, and bonds to 1000, doubles of bigger numbers and × 1000 for Grades 5 and 6.
How do I use a drill?
Pupils work through the facts as quickly as they can, writing only the answer. When they finish they note the time and, once it is marked, their score. Repeating the same drill a few days later shows their progress clearly.
Can I make shorter drills?
Yes. Under “More options” in the wizard, in “Exercises per sheet”, choose 100, 80, 60 or 50 facts. With fewer facts the print is larger, ideal for younger pupils.
Do facts repeat within a drill?
No, as long as the level has enough different ones. Bonds to 10 and doubles to 10 are few, so they come back in a different order to fill the drill, never twice in a row.
Do the worksheets change every time?
Yes. Tap the drill on the sheet and click “New” to get new facts with the same settings. “Duplicate” adds another drill with new facts to the same worksheet.
How do I print only the answer key?
Click “Print” and choose “Answer key”; “Worksheet and answer key” prints both in one go. You can check it first in the Answer key view at the top.
Is any pupil data sent anywhere?
No. Worksheets are generated in your browser and templates are saved in your browser's memory.
